Iron Maven at SEMA
After months upon months of gearing up for SEMA, we were finally able to reveal the Iron Maven in all of her glory. Unveiling the Iron Maven at SEMA was a huge win for not only the women who have worked on this build, but for all women within the trades. These ladies put their sweat and tears into this build and deserve all the recognition we can provide to them.
This build provided us many challenges and obstacles. Starting with the fact that we were using an old 1961 Volvo PV544. Anytime you are working with an older vehicle, you are faced with a lot of obstacles and issues. The metal can be difficult to work with and parts can be limited or not available. The other challenge we faced, was how to combine a 2019 Volvo S60 Hybrid to the mix as well. There was a lot of fabricating parts, and also 3D printing parts for the vehicle.
We wanted to take a moment to appreciate all of our sponsors who contributed to helping make this build possible. Without them and their support Girl Gang Garage would not have been able to complete this build and provide some of these ladies the experience that they deserved.
There will be some other blogs dedicated to different process of the build, so be sure to keep an eye out for those and you can always check out our instagram or the progress of the build.
